A Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) System is one of the most effective water and wastewater treatment technologies for removing oil, grease, suspended solids, and other insoluble impurities. It is widely used in industries where conventional sedimentation is not sufficient. DAF enhances separation by using micro-bubbles that attach to solid particles and float them to the surface for easy removal.
- How It Works
- Wastewater is dosed with coagulants/flocculants (if required) to enhance particle binding.
- Air is dissolved in water under pressure and then released at atmospheric pressure.
- Tiny air bubbles attach to oil droplets and suspended solids.
- These particles rise to the surface and form a sludge layer.
- A skimmer mechanism removes the sludge, while clarified water is discharged.
